1. Who we are
Throw a Plate at the Wall!!! is published by MathCats (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for the processing described in this policy. The name and postal address of the person responsible are in the Impressum. If you have any questions about this policy, email us at MathCats@proton.me.
2. Information we collect
We, the developer, do not collect personal information through the app. There is no account, login or registration of our own, and the app does not ask for names, email addresses, contacts or location. We do not run any servers that receive data from the app, and the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting tools.
Some information is handled by Google or Apple so that ads and leaderboards work. This is described in sections 5 and 6.
3. Information stored on your device
To remember your game between sessions, the app saves the following on the device only:
- game progress: your damage bill, stars and records per object, unlocked objects and rooms, achievements
- your room designs: wallpaper, floor, light and furniture, and the wall photo if you picked or took one
- settings: sound, music, vibration, camera distance and the other options in Settings
- your ad consent choice, saved by Google’s consent tool
We cannot see any of this information. It stays on the device, though it may be included in the device’s own iCloud or computer backups if backups are turned on; those are controlled by Apple, not by us. You can erase your progress at any time in Settings → Reset all progress, and remove a wall photo with the delete button next to it.
4. Camera, photos, microphone and motion
- Camera. Used only when you choose “Snap your wall” (to photograph a wall for the game) or AR Mode (to show your real room and find a wall). The wall photo is saved on the device only. In AR Mode, camera images are processed live by Apple’s ARKit on the device and are never stored or sent anywhere.
- Photos. “Choose photo” uses Apple’s photo picker, so the app only receives the one photo you pick, which it keeps on the device as your wall. If you share or save a replay video, it goes where you send it through Apple’s share sheet.
- Microphone. Used only for “Yell Boost”, which is off unless you turn it on in Settings. The app measures how loud you are while you throw; the sound is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- Motion sensors. Shaking the phone (earthquake) and tilting it (tilt gravity) are detected on the device and not stored.
You can turn camera and microphone access off at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
5. Advertising
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob: a banner, occasional full-screen ads at calm moments, and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch (for example to unlock the next objects early).
Your consent
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows Google’s consent form before any ads are loaded. You can accept or decline personalised ads, and change your choice later in Settings → Your privacy choices.
- The app then shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Only if you tap “Allow” can Google use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA). If you tap “Ask App Not to Track”, the IDFA is not shared. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- If you do not agree, you still see ads, but they are not personalised: they are chosen based on the app and general context, not on your activity in other apps or websites.
What Google receives
For advertising, measuring how ads perform and preventing fraud, the Google Mobile Ads software in the app sends Google technical information such as:
- IP address, which can be used to estimate general location
- interactions, such as app launches, ad views and taps
- diagnostic information, such as app launch time, hang rate and energy usage
- device information, such as model and operating system version
- the advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allowed tracking
We only receive summary reports from Google, such as how many ads were shown. Nothing in them identifies you. Google handles this information under its own policies: the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
6. Game Center
The app uses Apple’s Game Center for three optional global leaderboards: all-time damage, best single smash and this week’s damage. If you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the app submits these scores, and other players can see them next to your Game Center nickname. If you are not signed in, nothing is sent.
Game Center is run by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. We do not receive your Apple Account or email address. You can sign out, or change who can see your Game Center profile, in iOS Settings → Game Center.
7. Children’s privacy
Throw a Plate at the Wall!!! is a game for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app limits ads to content Google rates as suitable for teens or younger audiences (rating “T” or lower). If you are a parent and think your child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases for the processing described above:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25 TDDDG), for personalised ads and for storing or reading information on your device for advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Your privacy choices
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), to fund the app through non-personalised ads and to protect it against fraud
Google and Apple act as independent controllers of the information they process through their ad and Game Center services. Google may process information outside the EEA; it relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for such transfers.
9. How long information is kept
We do not keep any data from the app. Information on the device stays there until you reset your progress, delete the wall photo, delete the app or clear its data. Google and Apple keep the information they process according to their own policies. If you email us, we keep your message only as long as we need to reply.
10. Your choices and rights
Change your ad consent in Settings → Your privacy choices (shown where it applies), and tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Erase your game data with Settings → Reset all progress, or by deleting the app.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR may give you the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We don’t hold data from the app, so requests about ad or Game Center data are usually best sent to Google or Apple.
11. Security
We don’t run servers that store data from the app. Information sent to Google and Apple travels over encrypted connections. Game data and wall photos on the device are protected by the device’s own security.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what information the app collects or shares, we will describe it in the app’s store listing or update notes before the change takes effect.

Datenschutzerklärung
Throw a Plate at the Wall!!! ist ein Spiel, in dem man Dinge zerschmettert.
Fragen zum Datenschutz: MathCats@proton.me.
